Rachel M. Fricke

I'm a freshwater ecologist and current Fulbright grantee in Berlin, Germany where I'm working with colleagues in the Arlinghaus Lab at the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries to analyze the effects of angler management of gravel-pit lakes on aquatic and riparian community composition. At the end of my grant period, I'll start my graduate studies in the Freshwater Ecology and Conservation Lab at the University of Washington in Seattle. I'm interested in human manipulation of freshwater ecosystems and conservation approaches which capitalize on emerging sources of big data to tackle challenges such as invasive species and altered flow regimes.
